- The ‘fake’ alcohol that they use on set is actually real alcohol, as this is much cheaper than the ‘fake’ that TV and Film industry usually use. As a result, all scenes involving alcohol are shot last thing on the day.
- In the Season 2 Episode “Everybody Loves A Clown”, Ellen reads a newspaper. If you pause and read what is on it, it says “Ellen + John = Ash”. This in in reference to the fact that originally Ash was supposed to be Ellen Harvelle and John Winchester’s illegitimate son, but they changed the story line to John having killed Ellen’s husband when Jeffrey Dean Morgan was not available to shoot the necessary scenes.
- Mary Winchester’s favourite song is “Hey Jude” by the Beatles, because that is the song that Eric Kripke lost his virginity to.
- There are currently 7 published Supernatural novels, the most recent called Wanted, Dead Or Alive. In it, Dean Winchester falls in love with a corpse.
- 80% of all Chevvy Impalas in the world are owned by the Supernatural studios. It is predicted that by 2014 they will hold 100% of the Impala ownership.
- Castiel was originally supposed to be a demon. As a result, Misha auditioned for the role by reciting a demonic chant that was intended to raise satan. Unfortunately, it failed. Fortunately, he got the part.
- It is compulsory for all children who work on the show to have had training in Classic Rockology for at least 1 year.
- The crew play pranks on each other all the time. The most famous of them all was when writer and producer Jeremy Carver brought a 4 month old baby giraffe on set, then denied it’s existence to everyone who questioned what it was doing there.
- Jared Padalecki is under contract not to cut his hair whilst he is part of Supernatural. Instead, he trims co-star Jensen Ackles’ hair as compensation.
- In the Season 6 episode “All Dogs Go To Heaven”, the dog ‘Lucky’ was actually played by two children in a dog costume.
